Description

Carya illinoinensis is a large, semi-upright tree that produces yellow, greenish flowers in Spring and bears tons of nuts in Winter.  Pecan nut trees are fast growers and provide ample amount of shade during the hot seasons.

Pecan nuts are commonly eaten raw and used in cooking and desserts.  Its wood can also be used to make furniture or as wood flooring.  Its nuts are extremely healthy as it contains monounsaturated fatty acids.
