Description

A versatile ornamental tree that can be used as a hedge plant and is suited for large gardens and farms.  Great for bee farmers as its flowers produce tons of nectar and pollen and its honey has a satisfying flavour.

Its green to brown pods are often eaten by livestock and wildlife and their seeds can be cooked to make a coffee substitute.

This timber can be used to make posts and pens and it’s also a valuable source of fuel-wood and charcoal.  Often used as an indicator of water.

  • Tolerates temperatures as low as -7°c
  • Estimated height: 8-20m
  • Estimated width: 4-8m
  • Drought-resistant
