Description

Loved by many bee farmers, this ornamental tree can be grown into a small tree with a round flat crown or into an impenetrable hedge.  Insects, bees and moths are attracted to its sweetly scented white or pink pompom flowers and it’s also a host plant for the Silvery Bar Butterfly.

Its termite-resistant wood is used for many handles of tools, fencing posts and fuel.  Being an excellent fodder tree, its gum is eaten by children, animals and birds.  Strong medicinal value.

  • Young trees need to be protected from frost
  • Able to survive moderately low temperatures
  • Estimated height: 7-9m
  • Estimated width: 4-5m
  • Drought-resistant
  • Edible fruit
